Director’s Note:
Although I had extensive experience working on musicals during my tenure as a production stage manager, this production was the first opportunity for me to direct a musical. I wanted to capture the kinetic energy of New York City so I staged the musical in three-quarter thrust, which allowed for the show to swiftly move from scene to scene, and have actors move across the space, mimicking the traffic patterns of a busy NYC intersection.
